Handheld

Handheld Group is a Swedish manufacturer of professional rugged mobile computers with a well-earned reputation for building devices that genuinely survive the conditions field workers face every day. Founded in Sweden and operating globally, Handheld has spent decades engineering mobile computing solutions specifically for demanding outdoor and industrial applications — not ruggedizing consumer hardware as an afterthought, but designing purpose-built field computers from the ground up.

The Handheld product lineup available through Geomatics Gear spans two core families — the NAUTIZ rugged handhelds and the ALGIZ rugged tablets — along with specialist scanning and printing peripherals, giving geomatics professionals, GIS specialists, surveyors, field service technicians, and public safety crews a complete mobile computing ecosystem to choose from.

The NAUTIZ series covers the handheld form factor across a range of sizes and capability levels. The compact Nautiz X2 suits light-duty data collection, while the larger Nautiz X6, X8, X9, and X41 step up with increasingly powerful processors, larger displays, more connectivity options, and advanced scanning capabilities. All NAUTIZ handhelds are built to IP67 standards — fully sealed against dust and submersible in water — and tested to MIL-STD-810G military standards for drop, shock, vibration, humidity, extreme temperature, and altitude. The Nautiz X9, for example, survives 26 drops from 1.5 metres and operates reliably from -20°C to 55°C, making it a true all-conditions field computer.

The ALGIZ tablet series brings a larger screen format to the same level of ruggedness. The Algiz 8X and Algiz 10X run Windows 10 on Intel quad-core processors, offering the full desktop computing experience in a tablet that weighs around 1.3 kg and meets IP65 and MIL-STD-810G standards. The Algiz 10X features a 10.1-inch full HD sunlight-readable capacitive touchscreen, integrated GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/Beidou positioning, hot-swappable batteries, LTE connectivity, and a full suite of ports including USB 3.0, RS-232, VGA, and Ethernet — making it a genuine field workstation for GIS mapping, survey data collection, and engineering applications. The Algiz RT8 offers a more compact 8-inch Windows tablet option for users who need full Windows capability in a slightly more portable package.

Rounding out the Handheld lineup are the SP500X Scanprinter — a rugged mobile device combining scanning and printing in a single field unit — and the RS60 Ring Scanner, a hands-free wearable barcode scanner that keeps both hands free for field tasks.

All Handheld devices are backed by a global support network and available through Geomatics Gear with flexible financing options. Contact our team to discuss which Handheld device is the right fit for your field operations.
