UAVs & Drones
Aerial mapping has transformed the way geomatics professionals collect spatial data. What once required manned aircraft, extensive ground crews, and weeks of fieldwork can now be accomplished in a fraction of the time with a properly equipped UAV. Geomatics Gear’s UAVs & Drones category brings together a carefully selected lineup of survey-grade unmanned aerial systems and supporting software — designed specifically for the accuracy demands of professional mapping, photogrammetry, and geospatial data collection.
At the heart of the lineup is the SKYCRUISER series from South Instrument, a family of fixed-wing and VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) drones engineered from the ground up for survey-grade aerial mapping applications.
The SKYCRUISER A22 is a lightweight, fixed-wing UAV built for efficient large-area mapping missions. Featuring a 20.1 MP imaging sensor with a 21mm Voigtlander lens, RTK waypoint navigation, and PPK post-processing corrections capable of centimeter-level mapping accuracy, the A22 is a capable and cost-effective choice for land surveyors and mapping professionals. Hand-launched and weighing under 1.6 kg, it offers up to 85 minutes of endurance and can cover approximately 80–90 km per flight — making it well suited to corridor mapping, topographic surveys, and large parcel coverage.
The SKYCRUISER MF2500 steps up to a full VTOL platform for operations where terrain, launch site constraints, or coverage requirements demand more capability. With a 250 cm wingspan, kevlar fiber construction, up to 150 minutes of endurance, a maximum range of 180 km per flight, and coverage of up to 46 square kilometres at 10 cm GSD, the MF2500 is a serious tool for large-scale mapping operations. Vertical takeoff and landing within a 1-metre radius makes it deployable in locations where fixed-wing belly landings simply aren’t practical.
The SKYCRUISER FLYme rounds out the airframe options with a more accessible multirotor platform for projects requiring precision at lower altitudes and in tighter environments.
Completing the ecosystem is the PPK aeroPOS Software SkyLines — a post-processed kinematic positioning solution that integrates with SKYCRUISER platforms to deliver the precise georeferencing needed for survey-grade photogrammetric outputs without relying solely on ground control points. And for teams working in more accessible environments, the Drone-Eco Pro offers a practical entry point into professional aerial data collection.
Together, this lineup covers the full spectrum of professional UAV mapping needs — from compact fixed-wing efficiency to heavy-lift VTOL endurance, paired with the software to process and deliver accurate, reliable results. Flexible financing is available on all UAV and drone products. Contact the Geomatics Gear team to discuss which system best fits your project requirements and operating environment.
